Wimbledon Day Four

Fans waved good-bye on day four at Wimbledon to two promising players, Maria Sharapova and Andy Roddick, who just failed to deliver against their opponents. Rafael Nadal was given a scare in his first set against the Latvian, Ernests Gulbis, but Nadal prevailed in the next three sets to claim the match. Defending women’s champion Venus Williams pulled off a second win reminiscent of her first match, her opponent this time was also a Brit who played persistently for the first set but turned submissive in the second.
