Spain Is In!

Spain has indeed repeated history, capturing the coveted spot in the finals having defeated the Russians again by a margin of three points. All the action arrived in the second half with Xavi Hernandez scoring first for Spain at the 50th minute. Spain’s flawless quick passes and cohesive movements helped Spain net two more balls before the final whistle. The final two goals were attributed to Guiza at the 73rd and Silva at the 82nd with Fabregas playing a pivotal role in constructing both. Casillas, the Spanish goalkeeper, was invincible today denying the Russians even a consolation goal. The Russians have gone further than expected and can be proud of their performance in the tournament, especially the well constructed win against the Netherlands. Russian players such as Arshavin have displayed outstanding ability to play calmly against challenging opponents, and we may see much more of them in the future.
