Spain Wins Euro 2008

The medals have been distributed, the trophy has been hoisted, but Spain is still basking in the glory of their victory in the finals of Euro 2008 against Germany. They were the only team to make it as far as the semi-finals without suffering a single defeat in the entire tournament. Although ball possession was fairly equal during the game, Spain’s superior tactics is given testimony by the fact that they had seven shots on goal compared to a meager one for Germany. The only goal scored in the game came from boots of Fernando Torres in the 33rd minute. Sergio Ramos of Spain appeared in many strategic positions throughout the match, facilitating Spain’s movement down the pitch. It was a victory well deserved for these men and the celebrations rage on in Madrid and in the homes of Spanish fans all over the world. Even Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal, is said to have thrown a big party from his rented house in Wimbledon so that the Spanish players stuck in London could join in the action.
